The Bolivarian Government initiated the Arborization Plan in Caracas, which contemplated the establishment of 300 trees on Boyacá Avenue in Cota Mil, in the Catuche sector in front of the Andrés Galarraga baseball field, as part of a plan focused on revitalizing and beautifying the urban environment.

The information was provided by the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), on its account on the social network Instagram, in which it states that it is a strategic effort that seeks to address current environmental challenges and contribute to the well-being of the community.

He specifies that the day held last Sunday, September 29, included the participation of the aforementioned Ministry, the Mayor's Office of Caracas, Misión Árbol and the National Park Institute (Inparks).

The action is included in the National Reforestation Plan, which aims to restore green areas and promote sustainability in the city.

The selected trees included ornamental, forest and fruit species, placed at a distance of six meters between each one to ensure their optimal growth and the development of a healthy ecosystem.

“We are starting today in Cota Mil, where we have approximately 20 linear kilometers. We started with the reforestation of the first kilometer with 300 medium and small trees, so that they do not become a later problem,” said the Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca.

For her part, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, stressed that “it is necessary to replace the vegetation lost in the city, because many trees have fallen, as a result of the intense rains, and for each one of them we must plant it.”

“This project will begin in the heart of the capital and will gradually expand to the 23 parishes of Caracas, encouraging community participation and environmental awareness among citizens,” he said.

Reforestation will not only improve the city's air quality and aesthetic beauty, but it will also provide recreational spaces and long-term ecological benefits.
