Bolivarian Government continues to recover the water system in Cumanacoa

The Minister of the People's Power for Water Care, Engineer Carlos Mast, together with the Minister of Communes and Social Protection, Ángel Prado, the governor of the state of Sucre, Admiral Gilberto Pinto, the sole authority for the recovery of Cumanacoa, M/G Nayade Lockiby and other authorities, held an assembly with 26 communes of the Montes municipality to evaluate the communal projects that were approved in the first Popular Consultation National and that are implemented in different sectors.

Two months after the Manzanares River flooded, the National Government is making progress in its commitment to serving the Town of Cumanacoa, for this reason, Minister Mast, highlighted the great efforts that were made to restore the piped water system in less than 48 hours, starting with the construction and recovery of the raw water catchments and the San Lorenzo water treatment plant.

On this occasion, he indicated that the communal projects under execution and others under evaluation will be strengthened to move forward and provide an immediate response to the People, as instructed by the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro.

Through the first National Popular Consultation in Cumanacoa, the drinking water systems of the community of Brisas del Manzanares were rehabilitated, with the installation of 620 meters of 4 inches to favor 150 families in the town and in the Manga Capilla sector, 1,122 meters of 3-inch pipes were installed. Simultaneously with these tasks, there is the reactivation of the Barrio Blanco, La Granja 1 and 2 wells.

Mast mentioned that the Caribbean Hydrology team was also deployed in rural areas of the Montes municipality to rehabilitate and maintain the 18 rural aqueducts, including Quebrada Seca, San Salvador, El Yaque, La Ranchería, Bichoroco, Vuelta Culebra, Barrancas El Maco, El Yaque, La Vega, El Chaco, El Castaño, La Pica, Patamal, San Fernando and San Lorenzo.

For her part, the resident of the Arenas community, Elennys Ramos, thanked President Nicolás Maduro to comply with the Town of Cumanacoa and recalled that after the overflow of the Manzanares River, they were immediately treated with the restoration of public services, “especially water, because we have the vital liquid to meet our needs at home. May God bless you Mr. President, count on the people of Cumanacoa,” he said.
