The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the People's Republic of China signed an important Memorandum of Understanding to promote technological innovation in both nations.

The Minister of Popular Power for Science, Technology and Innovation, Gabriela Jiménez, said from Shanghai that this agreement links the Neobay Technology Park with the Venezuelan Science Technology+Science Park, and aims to establish a framework of collaboration for the joint development of projects in areas of common interest, such as artificial intelligence, big data, deep learning, bioagriculture and robotics.

Jiménez indicated in his X account that “this firm represents an important step forward for the development of science, knowledge oriented towards creation and innovation, and the empowerment of the entire national scientific apparatus, which directly involves universities and research centers and industry in Venezuela.”

In addition, he highlighted that this alliance is the result of President Nicolás Maduro's tour to China in 2023, where he met with his counterpart Xi Jinping to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different areas.

“This has been possible thanks to the promotion of an Ecosystem for the effective exchange of research, technologies and innovation with the industrial sector. Dr. Zhang Zhinga shared with us his experiences and the results of technological products,” he added.
