Opposition has historically used the call for abstention to hide its lack of popular support

Historically, the Venezuelan opposition, knowing that it is unable to win elections, has called for abstention, has chanted fraud, has tried to delegitimize the National Electoral Council (CNE) with the sole intention of hiding its lack of popular support.

As the elections on July 28 approach, it will be time to wait for what new invention they will use in order not to participate. Let's hope that the argument made by the extreme right is not “it's that there can be no elections without me” following the disqualified candidate's speech.
