Israel will no longer carry out investigations into mass graves found in hospitals in the Gaza Strip, after stating that it has already investigated the matter and did not find any irregularities on the part of its troops, reported the RT agency.

On Wednesday, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan urged that the deaths be “thoroughly and transparently investigated.”

“Investigate what?” , said Nadav Shoshani, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). “We gave answers. We don't bury people in mass graves. It's not something we do,” he added.

For his part, Khaled Elgindy, director of the program on Palestine and Palestinian-Israeli Affairs at the Middle East Institute, believes that “simply asking Israel to investigate itself doesn't make sense”.

“It's hard to see real accountability or change as a result of this,” confirmed Mairav Zonszein, an analyst at the International Crisis Group.

As explained by the media, if the Jewish country is convicted, the idea that the IDF has violated international humanitarian law during its war with the Palestinian movement Hamas could be reinforced.
