Last Thursday, the vice-foreign minister of Cuba, Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, participated in the open debate of the Security Council of the United Nations (UN) on the situation in the Middle East, including the question of Palestine.

Camejo criticized Israel's impunity and the double standards of the United States (US) government in its aggression against the Palestinian people.

“The double standards and selectivity of the U.S. government to guarantee Israel's impunity and exonerate it from its responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people increasingly diminish the credibility of the Security Council,” said the Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister.

The vice-chancellor expressed her disagreement with the recent veto of the North American nation, which prevented the State of Palestine, which has observer status within the highest international organization, from joining as a full member of the United Nations, which she considered “unjustifiable”.
